Sowell argues that human history can be a valuable guide, but only if that history has remained untwisted by those seeking to align it with their own agendas and/or visions. When this happens, history is no longer reliable and becomes virtually meaningless. He also urges the public to make fewer assumptions and to further analyze the facts in order to uncover the truth.
